Tampa Bay Rays catcher Wilson Ramos was removed from Monday’s game after a scary incident when a broken bat struck his helmet.
In the fifth inning of the game against the Baltimore Orioles, the barrel of Ruben Tejada’s bat shattered on his backswing and broke off to hit Ramos in the forehead.
The force of the bat pushed the catchers helmet into his head, causing a laceration.
Ramos needed six staples to close the cut.
